M. F. VAN BUSKIRK was born in Richland County August 22, 1862. He received his early education in a country school, and afterward completed his schooling at Vermillion Institute, of Hayesville, Ohio, and Otterbein University, of Westerville, Ohio. Before he had completed his education he was connected with the Hayesville (Ohio) Journal. In 1881 he purchased the Green Spring Times, being then only nineteen years of, age. Excellent success attended his efforts, and in 1884 his uncle, H. J. Ernsberger, went into partnership with him under the firm name of Van Buskirk & Co. The office has gradually grown from an army press and small equipment in a garret, to a steam office, counting room, etc.
