E. T. STICKNEY, of Scipio Township, Seneca County, Ohio, was born August 81, 1811, at Franklin County, New York. He has been a permanent resident of this State since July 4, 1886, and for a number of years has lived in Republic. On the 11th of October, 1888, he married Emma, daughter of Timothy Roberts, Esq., of Scipio, which union has been blessed with one child, a daughter, who married William A. Mills, and they now reside in Republic. The homestead farm is situated one mile east of Republic, and contains seven hundred acres, all under excellent cultivation. The residence is a model of comfort and convenience; is beautifully located in one of the most delightful sections of the County. The out-buildings are substantial and complete. Mr. Stickney is a gentleman who has been a life-long Democrat, and has ever enjoyed the confidence of his party. He was Justice of the Peace for twelve years, and held the position of Postmaster at Republic for sixteen years. He was a member of the convention that framed the present constitution of the State. In 1867 he was elected a Representative of the State Legislature, and served two terms. He is now engaged extensively in mercantile pursuits at Republic, and has done as much towards the financial and commercial prosperity of that town as any one man. Mr. Stickney is generally considered a practical farmer, a live business man, and an estimable citizen.
