Lloyd N. Lease
LLOYD N. LEASE, City Marshal, is a native of Eden township, this county, where he was born April 2,1838. In 1847 the family removed to Sandusky county, where our subject resided until 1856 when he became a resident of this city. Later he removed on a farm in Eden township where he engaged in farming for about three years, when he again took up his residence in Tiffin and engaged in the livery business until 1862. In 1875 he quit the livery business and purchased a farm near Republic in Scipio township, remaining there until in the fall of 1876. In 1878 he was elected Sheriff of Seneca county and again re-elected in 1880. After the ex piration of his term of office he engaged in shipping horses to the eastern markets, which he continued until November, 1895, when he was appointed Marshal by Mayor Rex to fill the vacancy caused by the killing of Marshal Schultz. In the spring of 1896 he was elected Marshal for one year and again re-elected in the spring of 1897 for a term of two years, in which capacity he is now ably serving.
