JACOB K. HUDDLE, the youngest son of Benjamin and Anna Huddle, was born in Bloom Township, Seneca County, Ohio, October 8, 1846. He is the seventeenth child of a family of eighteen children; is of Holland descent on his father's side, and of Swiss-German on that of his mother's. His parents were among the first settlers of Bloom Township, his father being, the owner of a fine farm of four hundred and twelve acres. In 1860, young Huddle lost his father; in August, 1863, his mother. After attending school for several years, at Heidelberg College, he studied law with W. P. and H. Noble, and was admitted to the bar in 1871. Remaining in the office of his preceptor for nearly a year, he opened an office of his own, with a fair share of public patronage, until 1873, when he purchased a half-interest in the Tiffin Weekly Star, of which he afterward became and is now the sole proprietor. He is a young man, who enters upon all undertakings with energy, and is determined to make the management of his favorite journal a success.
