ENOCH FRY, of Scipio Township, Seneca County, Ohio, was born at Frederick County, in the State of Maryland, March 21, 1811. At an early age he removed to Harper's Ferry, and worked in the United States armory at that place for a short time, and then removed to Clinton Township, in this County, arriving here in 1833. He remained in that Township until 1860, when he went to Scipio Township, on to the farm he at present occupies. On the 22d of January, 1836, he married Rhoda Wolf, in Clinton Township, Esquire Croft performing the ceremony. The fruit of this marriage has been eleven children ten of whom are still living, and one has "fallen asleep." There are three of these married and permanently settled in the Township, one in Missouri, and two in. California, while three sons still enjoy the comforts of the paternal roof. The farm contains eighty-four acres of excellently-improved land, all under cultivation. The residence is a charming brick structure, built upon an eminence, and commanding a magnificent prospect of the surrounding country. It constitutes one of those homes of rural comfort only to be met with in the fertile regions of the "Garden of the State," which can be rightfully said to include Seneca County.
