JACOB DECKER, now of Bellevue; Huron County, Ohio, was born in Union County, Pennsylvania, on the 10th of January, 1809. In 1818 he removed to Wayne County, Ohio, where he married Susannah Billman, a daughter of David Billman, Esq., of that County. The fruit of this marriage was five sons and one daughter. Two of his sons now reside in Thompson Township, Seneca County, Ohio, and have a very fine farm, which is under the most excellent cultivation, with good barns and substantial
out-buildings. In April, 1880, Mr. D. removed to Seneca County, Ohio, where be lived until the year 1871, at which time be removed to Bellevue, where he at present resides. His wife died March 27, 1878. She had been his faithful companion for upwards of forty years, and her death was a sore bereavement to him. She was an affectionate wife, a kind and loving
mother, and in every respect an exemplary woman. Mr. Decker and his children, who are all grown up to man's estate, are good citizens, and intelligent and industrious members of society. They possess the esteem of all with whom they come in contact, either in business or in social relations.
