
JOHN A. CANTER, Councilman from the Third Ward, was born in Tiffin, Nov. 3rd, 1862, and is the youngest member of the present City Council. Mr. Canter has always been a resident of Tiffin, as well as that of the Third Ward. His occupation is that of a painter, which he has faithfully pursued all his life. He has been employed at the Tiffin Agricultural Works since 1875, and has been foreman of the paint department since 1882.
In the spring of 1894 he was elected a member of the Council from the Third Ward, as a Democrat, and again re-elected in 1896. In 1896 he served as President of that body and is now Chairman of the Finance and Gas and Pipe Line committees. He resides at 111 West Perry street.
