William Boehler

WILLIAM F. BOEHLER, Councilman from the Fourth Ward, was born in Tiffin, April l0th, 1858. At the age of 16 he learned the printing business, being first employed in the Advertiser office where he served an apprenticeship of two years. Later he was connected with the Tiffin Gazette office for one year, and for two years in the job rooms of the Upper Sandusky Union.

In 1877 he went to Toledo and took in structions in crayon portraiture and caricature. After several years' study he returned to Tiffin and opened up a studio, specializing in crayon portraits, in which he has been eminently successful for the past twenty years.

In April, 1896, he was elected a member of the City Council, as a Democrat, from the Fourth Ward, and is now serving his first term. He is at present Chairman of the Fire Committee, as well as serving on other important committees. He was for twenty-five years a member of the Volunteer Fire Department, and organizer of the famous Wilson Hose Team that won so many prize contests and which still holds the championship record of the state. Mr. Boehler takes great interest in all fire matters and endeavors at all times to equip this department in the best possible manner to meet all exigencies in fighting fires.
